Every great rally has its unexpected turns and Volt’s story is no different. Since 2016, what started as a passion for padel and a vision to do things differently has grown into a brand reaching players in more than 50 countries.
To celebrate a decade of Volt, we sat down with Pedro Brito e Cunha, Founder and CEO of Volt Padel, to revisit the moments, decisions and people that have made the journey what it is today. From taking a leap of faith and leaving a 15-year career behind to seeing a Portuguese padel brand find its place on the international stage, there’s plenty to look back on.
One moment stands out: 2021, when Volt’s world suddenly got a whole lot bigger. But growth came with its own challenges, from keeping up with demand to making the tough calls that come with building something from the ground up. Not every shot landed perfectly, but every challenge helped shape the brand.
And then there are the moments worth celebrating. The Volt 700, a personal favourite from day one, has become part of Volt’s story in its own right. It was also the racket of choice for Ana Catarina Nogueira during some memorable milestones, including her victory at the WPT Master in Madrid in 2019. A pretty special chapter for Portuguese padel.
So, what’s next? More innovation, new ideas and products that make a real difference on court, all while staying true to the independent spirit that got Volt here in the first place.
Ten years down, the next chapter is already calling… and if the first decade is anything to go by, it’s going to be a good one.
